Is it us, or does football season seem to come earlier and earlier each year? LOL Never mind, let it come as soon as it likes. We’re ready with our Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Maui Onion Dip. Now, where’s that remote?
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Maui onions (or sweet onions), thinly sliced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon DCD Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Cocoa Rub (adjust according to taste)
- Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat. Add onions and cook until golden brown. Process will take 20-30 minutes and should be stirred occasionally to prevent burning. Once onions have caramelized, remove from heat, transfer to food processor and allow to cool.
- Pulse onions, sour cream, buttermilk, and Sweet ‘N “Spicy Cocoa Rub until combined. Transfer to a serving dish and chill at least 1 hour.
