Ovens can vary in temperature by up to 50 degrees! Make sure yours is correct by using a standing or hanging internal oven thermometer, and rotate the pan of the item you’re baking halfway through its cooking time to achieve even baking and browning.
Remember, when baking more than one cake or cupcake pan at a time, allow for some space between the pans and the oven walls. Also, be sure to stagger their placement in the oven so that the air can circulate and the cakes will bake evenly.
