2 chickens (or 4 whole bone-in chicken breasts) halved lengthwise
4 tablespoons DCD Sweet ‘n’ Spicy Cocoa Rub
2 teaspoons DCD Zesty Ginger Sea Salt
½ cup vegetable oil
1 bottle DCD Sweet ‘n’ Smoky Chocolate BBQ Sauce
1. In a small bowl, mix together rub, salt and vegetable oil. Rinse chicken in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place chicken in a large bowl or baking dish and coat with rub mixture. For best results, allow the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
2. Thirty minutes before you’re ready to grill, take the chicken out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature. Preheat the grill to medium heat, about 275 degrees F. Place the chicken halves on grill, meat side down. Cover grill and cook for about 45 minutes.
3. Flip chicken over and let it brown until the chicken becomes golden, about 15 minutes. The wing and the drumstick should become very tender and will easily pull away at the joints. Brush the chicken with BBQ Sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
